First things first, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!.
The new year is a time for celebration and renewal. It is a time to reflect on the past year and set goals for the year ahead. The start of a new year is full of potential and the possibilities are endless. It is a chance to start fresh and make positive changes in our lives. As we bid farewell to the old year and welcome in the new, let us embrace all that the new year has to offer and make the most of every opportunity that comes our way.
But as the title suggests, we are reviewing ChatGPT which is what I actually used to write the first paragraph of this post. We had some members of our lab tell us about their experience with ChatGPT.
ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI that has the ability to comprehend and generate natural language text. With its impressive capabilities and potential to revolutionize the way we interact with computers and other digital systems, It has garnered significant attention from the artificial intelligence community and beyond.
One of the key features of ChatGPT is its ability to maintain context and coherence over the course of a conversation. This is achieved through the use of the transformer architecture and pre-training on large amounts of data.
1. Testing ChatGPT’s Capabilities
“As someone with a background in artificial intelligence, I was excited to get the opportunity to test out ChatGPT. During my initial tests, I asked ChatGPT questions about a variety of topics, including science, history, and current events, and it was usually able to respond with pertinent and instructive information. The model demonstrated a good understanding of context, enabling it to engage in more intricate and nuanced interactions." - Ronald
"I have generally been impressed by the experience I have got after trying out the ChatGPT language model. I asked the API to write for me a brief project proposal on using AI for disease detection in beans which it successfully did by creating a title for the project, providing the main objective, methodology, budget, timeline and expected outcomes. I later made a follow up question to get some specific objectives to which it provided over 7 under the same topic."- Blair
